One day in which Twilight Sparkle returns to the Tree Library, she discovers someone had arrived before her.

Right in the center of the main room, many of the books are spread around in a circle around the purple pony with a dark blue mane, either opened or closed, the later revealing complicated essays and treaties on the nature of the laws of physics, reality, and magic. In her line, there are books she hadn't read yet on geography, cultures, and other things.

In fact, the books fly to the pony's front as she reads it at a lightning speed, then gently closes them with her magic and leaves it to her side to go for another one, jut at the same time writing notes in an empty scroll that was spreading as long as Twilight's list.

Her mane had two pigtails. Her cutie mark were lines of strings to the dance of a violin bow.

Visitors were frequent at the library, so seeing a pony reading here wasn't too uncommon. What is uncommon, however, is how quickly she's going through those books. Like a super computer, all of that information is processed in seconds. Not even Twilight can read books that quickly!

She approaches to check on her, though her hair starts to seem more and more familiar, as the unicorn approaches. It's almost...no way. Simply coincidence. Best not to draw any conclusions, so Twilight returns to her original plan of approaching the mysterious new pony. "Is there anything in particular you're looking for?"

It doesn't look as if the stranger unicorn had listened, instead being entranced in her own reading, not so much tossing books away but leaving them to her side as if for future reference, for the moment away from the world, and into her own as she usually was.

Twilight's shadow covers some of her text. Which, does get her to blink for a few moments.

Funny enough, Twilight's had similar moments happen to her. Not wholly pleasant when you're invested in a book, so she steps back politely, nodding.

"I'm Twilight Sparkle. I don't we've met here before; have you recently arrived?"

The newcomer looks up from the shadow over her book at the host of the library, and stares. For almost a whole minute engulfed in a whole train of thought as if she had been a child.

Then, she softly leaves the book on physics she was reading in front of her, and her horn casually levitates a pair of bento boxes that she leaves near her book and close to Twilight, as if aware and understanding they were both ponies.

"I am pleased to meet you. My name is Kotomi Ichinose. I am a Second Year student in University. My hobby is reading books. I would like to become friends with you." She hovered the lid of her bento open. "Do you want to eat with me?"

Kotomi...that introduction, the voice, the name confirmation...this was definitely Kotomi. Not the one the unicorn knew from Mayfield...right? That Kotomi had her memories erased when she returned and Twilight worked on rebuilding their friendship from there. Could she have reset...?

Or there's the more likely option: she's not affiliated with that town whatsoever. In all honesty, that was likely for the better. Her ears droop, but her smile is sincere. "...Yes. I'd like that very much."

Smiles were Kotomi's modus operandi in her life, to things she didn't know about, could not explain, or would not confess, when she was feeling fear or would hide her sadness. Many times it was genuine ignorance, difficulties in reading others, on the things they felt in spite of her love to all peoples.

And sometimes, it was difficult to tell when, she just played dumb.

Kotomi the Unicorn smiled as she shuffled beside Twilight, bringing a book between them as she read aloud a treatise on short-distance travel using blink-long wormholes that could be created and immediately used with a focus on the desired location. And between bites, she hovered four chopsticks for the two of them, her own hovering to bring rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and fruits to nibble along, all but fish this time, and occassionally feeding Twilight as well.

"What species of Equs feerus caballus are you?" Out of the blue, she asks while turning to Twilight with the same smile, "you are capable of speech and possess a horn to perform spectral feats of magic such as levitation, and it's clear you are sentient by the possession of this library and dwelling, and that you are really, really smart. Smarter than anyone I've ever known."
